How to Apply

Students hanging from goalpostStudents are accepted into the fifth or sixth grade at Nativity School of Worcester.

A simple visit to the school, any time after Christmas vacation, starts the process. On that first visit, parents or guardians initiate a conversation with the staff, tour the school, fill out some preliminary forms and sign up for the Nativity entrance exam in March.

From that first visit the parent or guardian takes home an Application Packet. It includes basic information about the school, an Application Form to be completed and further instructions about how to proceed.  The student himself must fill out one page of the Application Form before it is submitted.

Nativity is tuition-free, so with the completed Application Form the parent must submit evidence of family income: a recent 1040 tax form, current W-2 forms, or whatever is appropriate. Meanwhile Nativity will contact the student’s current school for his transcripts, other records and recommendations from his teachers.

Entrance Exams are conducted on any Saturday in March, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., provided that both the Application Form and income information have been received. On Exam Day applicants receive a Student Handbook which they must read before their interview.  On that same day, interviews are scheduled for some mutually convenient date in April. Some applicants are asked to spend a full day at the school.

Decisions are made and communicated during the first week of May. Up to 15 boys will be accepted into the fifth grade and possibly a few into the sixth.

Briefly: visit, sign release, Application Form, 1040, Exam, Interview.
